Can anyone help me remember an old Nintendo game I played? It’s a side-scroller where you’re a guy with big hair (I think it was red hair but I’m not sure) going around killing ghosts and monsters and things with a sword. I don’t think it’s Castlevania.
I’m trying to remember the name of a book/books I read as a kid. Both were picture books and sort of creepy. The first took place in a mansion/castle and it was really creepy and full of dangerous things. Each page was a different room, for example the dining room showed a picture of a table filled with food but some of it had poison or dynamite in it, and another page I think was something like a dungeon with bones in it. It was similar to a choose your own adventure book, and each choice you made landed you in a different room of the mansion, and I think the goal was to escape because at the end of the book you were outside.
The second book I remember very little about, it was another picture book and it may have been about witches or something. It was also creepy in nature and I don’t feel like it had much of a story line, I just remember the kitchen was full of ingredients a witch would use in a potion like “bat eyes” etc. There were lots of foods with gross labels, i think tapeworm cereal might have been one or something similar to that! I know that’s not much information. I remember reading these books in the early 90’s but they were from the library and are probably from the 80’s. Any information would be helpful, it’s driving me crazy trying to remember the names of these books.
From a reader: “My mom was cleaning the closets this morning and found this old toy. All it says on the bottom is 1995. Does anybody remember what this was or where it came from?”

Hi there! I have been trying to figure out the name of a toy my best friend had. No one but us seems to remember it. It was a playset shaped like a refrigerator, maybe about 8 inches tall. When you opened the doors, they swung out to the side and it opened up to a little scene with little dolls and furniture. It was sort of like Polly Pocket but it wasn’t actually Polly Pocket- it was bigger and the dolls were bigger. Probably from the late 80s. Help!
Anyone remember?
“A VHS about some sort of puppet that was a bird and he gets a package with a series of puzzles to open the next layer. most of them result is some sort of joke on him. one of which asks him to stick his nose in it and pull a cord which closes on his nose, the other tells him to look into triangles to see and it results in triangles over his eyes. early 90s maybe late 80s. they had educational parts inbetween the antics of the bird. please help this is making me nuts.”

“There was these movies I loved about this pre-teenish boy who traveled around in this thing that I can only think to describe as a space ship. I think there were six movies in all. One where he went to medieval times, one where he went to a toyland type of place. Another where the spaceship got attacked by these crazy little monsters that ate through the ship’s wiring. I think he had a girl that went places with him? and an older guy I think, who made the ship. anyway, any ideas on what it is?”
“I’m trying to find a series of plastic games that existed when I was in elementary school, so around 1990-93 or so. They were designed to fit in kids’ three-ring binders. Each game was for a different kind of sport—baseball, basketball, football, etc.—and would be played with a penny. The basketball game had a spring-loaded flipper that would flip a penny into a hoop that folded up into position.”
Any thoughts, guys?

“I’m trying to remember the name of a television show. It was a cartoon I think from the early ’90s, about a dinosaur who maybe skateboarded into the future. The details are fuzzy but it’s making me crazy!” — lemonpoppyseedladyhusband

From Anonymous:
“After-school TV show from the ’90s question… a group of high school kids who could enter the internet (or their computer, or something) by playing a ‘power chord’ on a guitar. There were also fighting robots. Any insight to the name of the show?”
Thoughts?

“I’m trying to remember the name of this show. There were three guys who had these vehicle exo suits. One guy was flying based (like airplanes), one marine (like subs) and one land (like motorcycles). They had these suits beamed on to them from a lady who lived in a satellite”
Anyone?
